Our Story

How We Met

It all began on a mountain. Nick was working as a Park Ranger in Yosemite National Park, heading down from a long shift on Half Dome, when he crossed paths with a hiker catching her breath after an 11-mile climb. That hiker was Pri.
Even after such a grueling hike, Pri smiled and struck up a conversation. It also happened to be Nick’s 29th birthday, and somehow, she convinced him to join her for the final stretch — the climb up the Half Dome cables. Nick stayed below as Pri began her ascent, watching carefully and offering words of encouragement while she climbed higher and higher.
As the sun began to fade and the climb took its toll, Pri grew exhausted and sat down, gripping one of the cable poles tightly — disappointed that she couldn't make it all the way to the top after coming so far. Seeing her struggling, Nick shot up the cables quickly to reach her side and gently reassured her, "I'm here with you." With calm guidance, he helped her make her way safely down the cables until they reached solid ground together — the beginning of something neither of them expected.
That night, Nick offered Pri a cot in his canvas ranger tent, so she could rest after the climb. The next morning, they hiked down the mountain together — talking, laughing, and making it back just in time for the ranger end-of-season party. A quiet spark had formed, one that neither of them would forget.

After Yosemite, Pri went home to India to celebrate Diwali, and all Nick had, was her WhatsApp contact — but that was enough. They talked every day, sharing jokes, life updates, and late-night messages that turned into something deeper.
Months later, Pri made a bold move: she flew all the way to Las Vegas for Thanksgiving to meet Nick’s family. After picking her up from the airport, Nick took her to a cozy vegetarian restaurant — a small gesture that spoke volumes. Later that night, Pri met his family for the first time and fit right in, as if she’d always been there.
That first visit was only the beginning. Even years later, they’ve continued their long-distance rhythm — taking turns flying between Las Vegas and California every week to spend time together. The airport reunions, quick weekend trips, and bittersweet Sunday goodbyes have become part of their story, each one a reminder that no matter the miles, they’ll always keep choosing each other — again and again.

On March 15, 2025, Nick planned the surprise of a lifetime — a flash-mob proposal in front of the Bellagio Fountains in Las Vegas. Pri thought they were just stopping to watch a performance, until Nick turned to her, smiled, and said, "This is for you."
As the music played, he stepped into the crowd and joined the dancers, leaving her completely speechless. When the fountains erupted behind them, Nick got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Just as Pri said yes, her best friends appeared — secretly flown in to share the moment. It was everything she never expected and exactly how their story was meant to unfold.
